Low Educated Second Language and Literacy (LESLLA) For Adults

The Karel de Grotehogeschool in Antwerp, Belgium will host the fourth symposium of LESLLA on 23-25 October 2008, sponsored by the Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie) The focus will be on research on instruction, demographics trends, second language literacy development, second language acquisition by low-educated adults, the interaction of language and literacy with each other and/or with factors such as cognition, type of orthography and the like. There also will be presentations on new approaches for L2 literacy pedagogy and new computer assisted language and literacy learning (CALL) systems such as ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition).
