Workshop 'Getting to know LASLLIAM' by Council of Europe

The Council of Europe is organising an online workshop entitled "Getting to know LASLLIAM". It will take place on Thursday, 1 June 2023 from 16.00 until 18.00 CEST.

Please register here.

In many European countries about 20% of adult migrants are non- or low-literate. To support their integration in the host countries the European Reference guide LASLLIAM (Literacy and Second Language Learning for the Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants) was developed.

The webinar will consist of two parts. The first part opens with a general introduction of the Reference Guide and the new scales for Technical Literacy, followed by a small group activity in which participants familiarize themselves with descriptors and levels of one of the Technical Literacy scales.

The second part starts with a general overview of the Communicative Language Activity scales, including Language Use Strategies, and the Digital Skills scales. In a second small group activity, participants will work with some of the descriptors of the Digital Skills scales and how they can be used in planning learning activities, illustrated by sample tools already developed.

The working language of the workshop is English.

The LASLLIAM Reference Guide will be presented by its authors: Fernanda Minuz, Jeanne Kurvers, Rola Naeb, Lorenzo Rocca and Karen Schramm.
