There have been so many changes for our small, but mighty organization in recent years. LESLLA was founded in 2005 with an inaugural meeting in Tilburg, Netherlands in 2005. A cozy meeting of dedicated educators, researchers and policymakers committed to deepening our understanding of literacy and language acquisition by adult learners with interrupted formal schooling experience and little to no literacy in their first language(s).

LESLLA 2020 Symposium Update

LESLLA 2020 is happening during unprecedented times! Of course the Board of Directors and the Malmo organizers are following the pandemic and related travel restrictions closely. It's far too early to say what will happen this summer, but for now, we are still planning on a wonderful August symposium in Sweden!
